The Illustrated Guide to New York Waterways is a personal project that came about while wondering what could actually be at the bottom of the Hudson River. This curiosity led to a bit of investigation, and I ended up talking to and interviewing some of the lead divers for the NYPD and dock builders. What I came up with was a bit more interesting than I had ever anticipated.
The book is still being written and I'm planning on self publishing it in early 2013. See the following images_v3 for the basic idea. The original handbound concept book I made, with a 3-color letterpressed cover and Japanese stab stitch binding.
